“My journey with yoga began when I was just 10 years old. My parents insisted that I attend a 10-day workshop. At the time, it felt like just another task to complete—a chore more than a choice.I didn’t realize then how much this practice would later shape my life.Years passed, and I moved away from yoga, focusing on other pursuits. Eventually, I joined the U.S. military, becoming a soldier. That was the most happiest moment so far in my life.
The discipline and structure of military life taught me many things, but it also introduced me to the harsh realities of the world—a world filled with intense stress, anxiety, and a constant state of vigilance.
Then, one fateful day, a tragedy struck. A senior officer from my battalion, after returning from deployment, took the lives of 5 police officers and injured 9 others Dallas. This incident shook me to my core. I realized that despite all the strength and resilience the U.S. military had instilled in me, something was missing—a sense of inner peace, a way to cope with the stress and anxiety that loomed over my mind.It was during this time of uncertainty that I found my way back to yoga—specifically to Pranayama and meditation, the arts of conscious breathing and mindful awareness. These practices, which I had once approached with indifference, now became lifelines, guiding me out of the chaos and into a space of calm and clarity.“Helping me break compulsive habits like smoking, drinking, and irregular eating patterns by cultivating greater consciousness within the system.”As I delved deeper, I embarked on a journey to Rishikesh, the birthplace of yoga located in the foothills of the Himalayas, to receive formal teacher training. Here, I learned not only the ancient techniques but also how to blend them with modern neurobiology—a fusion that would define my teaching and my mission.
From compulsive behaviors to conscious choices, yoga, meditation, and Pranayama transformed me. These practices were no longer just a series of postures and breaths; they became a way of life, a path to conscious well-being.Today, I am dedicated to sharing these practices with others through Byra Conscious, the platform I created to spread the wisdom of this transformative journey. I teach unique breathing techniques, meditation methods, and sound therapies that help others find their own path to inner joy and holistic well-being.
Looking back, I see now that the seeds planted in that 10-day workshop at the age of 10 were always there, waiting to bloom. My U.S. military experience, the rediscovery of yoga, meditation, and Pranayama—each step was necessary to bring me to where I am today.
And now, my mission is clear: to help others transform their lives, just as I transformed mine.”
